National Service Scheme

The NSS Unit of Arulmigu Meenakshi College of Nursing was imitated in the year 2012, formerly it was along with the Meenakshi Medical College ( in campus) since 2009. The unit was named has Florence Nightingale NSS Unit in memory of Florence Nightingale, founder of Nursing who has given the primary thought of Environmental sanitation is the cause for all disease through her “Environmental Theory ” in the year 1859.

Motto of NSS Unit:  “Not Me, But You”

Strength of the NSS Unit : 100  Registered NSS volunteers.

Adopted Village: Thimasamuthram ( For 3 consecutive years from 2021 - 23) 5 km away from College Campus

Function of the Unit:

  1. Conducting awareness programmes in the adopted village.
  2. Organising medical camps and guiding the medically needy people to our parent hospital.
  3. Observing health awareness days in the community area
  4. Conducting school health programmes, Women health programmes and programmes in Anganvadi.
  5. Planting tree saplings and creating awareness on environmental health and importance of growing trees.
  6. Participating and supporting in Swach Bharath Abiyan and plastic free Environment.
  7. Keeping the college and the college campus clean, Free from plastic and maintain go green garden.

Red Ribbon Club:

 Red Ribbon Club (RRC) was initiated in the year 2020.

Registered Volunteers:  100 Students.

Functions of RRC:

  • Conducting Awareness to public on HIV/AIDS , its prevention and protection
  • Organizing Blood donation camps in Colleges and in community area.
  • Motivating the college students and community people for blood donation through individual and education on blood donation.
