Every year Sports and cultural are organized and students are encouraged to participate in sports like

Students are also encouraged to participate in intercollegiate programmes conducted in other Districts.

Students are also given permission to play in the evening between 5 pm to 6.30pm during weekends.

The College of Nursing has a library called the,”The Living Library”. It covers 1462 square feet. It has a capacity to accommodate 60 students at one time. The library is equipped with 3183 books, 13 national journals and 10 international journals. There are 251online journals also available. Fifty new latest books are purchased every year.  Further, it is equipped with theAutolib software, two surveillance cameras and Wi-Fi facilities. It also has a xerox corner for students and separate reading room for faculty. The library is enriched and updated by the Library Committee which consists of alibrarian, a library assistant, faculty and students.

            The college has 6 laboratories in accordance with the requirement of the Indian Nursing Council. Students are trained in 1:10 ratio for teaching and demonstration of the procedures in the respective laboratories. The following are the laboratories.

  1. Nursing Foundation Lab.
  2. Advanced Clinical Lab.
  3. Maternal and Child Health Lab.
  4. Community Health Nursing Lab.
  5. Nutrition Lab.
  6. Computer Lab.
  1. Nursing Foundation Lab:

This lab is of 1726 square feet. It has 6 mannequins and with other essential instruments for demonstrating the basic procedures in nursing. The primary use of the lab is by the first-year students. Students are taught nursing care on the patient by using the mannequins before the students are posted in clinical area. The second as well as the third years also use the foundation lab.

  1. Advanced Clinical Lab:

This lab is 723 square feet with advanced skill mannequins for the training of the second- and third-year students in Medical and Surgical Nursing. The following mannequins are:

  • Multi Trauma Suturing Mannequin.
  • Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation Mannequin(CPR).
  • Peritoneal dialysis Mannequin.
  • Tracheotomy care Mannequin.
  1. Maternal and Child Health Lab:

This lab covers an area of 825 square feet is used for third year for child health nursing care to practice their procedures. Further, the fourth-year students also use the lab for the training in antenatal palpation and normal delivery conduction.

The available mannequins are:

  • New Born Baby (Mannequin).
  • Paediatric Mannequin.
  • New Born Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation Mannequin (CPR).
  • Antenatal and delivery conduction Mannequin.
  1. Community Health Nursing Lab:

The community health nursing lab covers an area of 1296 square feet. It has 100 community bags for training the students. Maintaining family folders and health records of the community are taught in this lab. The students are also taught on managing minor ailments in community area. It is equipped with the following models for demonstration purpose. The students of second and fourth year are the primary users of the lab.

The models are as follows:

  • Bore well
  • Bore hole latrine.
  • Slow sand filter.
  • Rapid sand filter.   
  • Berk field filter.
  • Septic tank.
  • Infant Mannequin.
  1. Nutrition Lab:

This lab is occupied with kitchen utensils for cooking, gas stove, grinder, micro-oven, refrigerator and juicer. The first years are the primary users of the lab.

The lab covers an area of 1370square feet constructed with convenient sinks for washing utensils, preparing nutritious diet with restricted calories and many more diets based on the disease conditions of the patient.

  1. Computer Lab:

It covers an area of 1500 square feet and consists of 10 computers. It is utilized by first year students for practicing their basics in computer. The lab is equipped with Wi-Fi. The students are taught in batches of 10.

It covers an area of 3000 square feet. It has a seating capacity of 500 students. It is an air-conditioned hall with 500 chairs, wall mounted LCD, a large screen, high feature audio system and a computer. Conferences, seminars, committee meetings, and cultural programmes are organized here.


It covers an area of 600 Square feet consisting of portable LCD, amplifiers, sound systems, and wall mounted LED television. A portable stranger audio system is also available for the community programmes. Further, a camera and laptop is also available. The room also consists of maps, charts, flash cards and flannel boards for promoting health education for groups in the hospital and community area.

Sports Room:

It covers an area of 600squarefeet. It consists of volley balls, foot balls, badminton rackets, shuttle cork, cricket bats and balls, short put, javelin, relay sticks. Indoor games are also available which consists of carrom boards, and chess boards.

Male and Female Common Room:

It covers 1000 square feet. Separate rooms to dine for days scholar male and female students with drinking water and hand washing facilities is available.
